It is a privilege and an honour to be a partner in international education with an institution that has long been a leader in advancing women's education in Japan. We greatly value Ochanomizu University's significant contributions to the education of future leaders.

Our collaboration, which began in 2018 with the participation of UEA's Japanese language students in Ochanomizu University's distinguished Summer Programme, has grown into a rewarding and fruitful partnership. We have since expanded our activities to include online collaborative projects between UEA's Japanese degree students and Ochanomizu students, under the guidance of esteemed academics from both universities.

In 2022, we were pleased to join Ochanomizu University as a key partner in its successful bid for EDI funding from the Japanese government. This programme has provided more students with opportunities to study in both Tokyo and Norwich, with a focus on EDI topics and internships at leading institutions in Tokyo, coordinated by Ochanomizu University. Delegations from our institutions, including two UEA academics and two students were invited to Tokyo to support the launch of this initiative, and additional contributions have continued in the form of online lectures on EDI topics facilitated by faculty from both universities. UEA students who have participated in this programme have shared that their experiences in Tokyo were the highlight of their degrees.

We are grateful for the many ways in which UEA students and faculty continue to benefit from this invaluable partnership, and we take immense pride in welcoming Ochanomizu students to Norwich each year. As our partnership continues to flourish, we look forward to building upon this strong foundation with Ochanomizu University in the years to come. Once again, congratulations to Ochanomizu University on this important milestone and we extend our warmest wishes for continued success in the future.
