Concept of the Design

A student from Meiji era stands at the historic and iconic Main Gate of Ochanomizu University. After 150 years of blazing a trail in women's education, the young woman is pointing to the future and towards the university's ultimate goal: realizing a society where all can live in happiness. Her finger also shows the pride and resolution of the university to raise professional women and to be a pinnacle of universities for women throughout all times. The connection of the student's clothes to the number 150 indicates a wish for the university to remain faithful to its values and strives to maintain its legacy beyond the first 150 years.
